Our History
In 1975 John Coffey, Owen Candy and Mark Purcell & Joe Prouse who had all operated separately from the 1940's amalgamated to become Coffey & Co.
John Hunt joined the team at Coffey & Co in 1979 and shortly after became Partner. In that same year John Prouse, Owen Candy & Joe Purcell retired. With John Coffey & John Hunt as partners they changed the name to Coffey Hunt Accountants.
John Coffey soon retired to leave John Hunt as the sole partner of Coffey Hunt. Between 1985 and 1990, Lindsay Bullivant and Peter Haylock become partners.
Coffey Hunt had out grown the building in Kepler Street and moved to 199 Koroit Street, The property had originally belonged to a Doctor, who bought the property for his house and surgery practice back in 1875. It was a five room house, as pictured.
Since 1990, Christopher Kol, Mark Dickson, James Mahony, Mark Patterson, Gary Smith, Steve Marris and Narelle McLean have became partners of the practice. Coffey Hunt currently has over 40 staff and provides a range of services as detailed under Our Services.
